Looking for a great gift?  See our pages on Travel-Related Gifts and Gifts for Lovers of the Outdoors for some great ideas.

The intention on this site is not to describe all our travels in great detail. Instead I have tried to give a feel for the places and what they have to offer.  I have not written extensively about the historical background, or covered tourist attractions in depth, because this information can readily be found in numerous guidebooks.

Where possible I have provided practical information about how to get around, where to stay and visit, and where to make bookings.  For each destination I have included links to resources where you should be able to find further information on the local area, compare accommodation options, plan routes and transport, and get ideas for excursions.
